October 21, 1931 – September 19, 2021
James "Red" Phillip Strahan, age 89, of St. Joe, Arkansas, passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Hospice of the Ozarks in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
The son of John and Willie (Houston) Strahan was born October 21, 1931 in Mincy, Missouri.
He worked a number of years at J&H Custom Furniture in Pindall. He enjoyed gardening and loved training squirrel dogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a step-daughter, Sharon; his brother and wife, John "Junior" and Maxine Strahan; three sisters, Lou Rogers and husband Dud, Ginger O'Brien and Barbara Forbs and a brother-in-law, Walter McMahon.
James is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Laverne Strahan; his sister, Stella McMahon; five step-children, Marilyn Bell and husband Jim, Junior Bandy and wife Margaret, David Bandy and wife Marilynn, Roberta Pack and husband Michael and Shirley Burkert; two brothers-in-law, Vernon O'Brien and Jim Forbs; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a very special friend, Lonnie Eddings.
Funeral service will be at 2 PM, Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Harrison with Pastor Robert Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow at Love Cemetery.
Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service, beginning at 1 PM on Thursday.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
