James W. Leachman, Jr., died at the Springdale Health and Rehab in Springdale, Arkansas on Friday, August 26, 2016 from a long illness of Alzheimer's at the age of 72.
He was born on September 19,1943 in Sioux City, Iowa. He worked at McDonald's for 20 years, as manager. After moving to Harrison, Arkansas in 1981 bought the Taco Hut and after 10 years went to work for the Boone County Assessor's Office until retirement in 2006.
While living in Sioux City, he enjoyed professional photography and flying Cessna airplanes, then moving to Harrison, he loved to fish the White River.
Survivors include his wife Barbara, a brother Timothy of Houston, Texas; a sister Mariah MacLennan of Frisco, Texas; 3 sons, Joel and wife Cortney of Bedford, Virginia, John and wife Lisa of Bentonville, Arkansas, and Matthew of Houston, Texas; one daughter Laurel James of Flippin, Arkansas; 7 seven grandchildren, Denton and Riley of Bedford, Virginia, Mya and Cameron of Bentonville, Arkansas, Abby, Anna, and Luke of Flippin, Arkansas; and one nephew Arron Leachman of Denver, Colorado.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Dr. James W. Leachman, Sr. and wife Betty.
Memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Harrison, Arkansas with Bro. John Kindrix and Bro. Billy Rogers officiating. Private burial will be held at a later date.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services beginning at 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
