Obituary
James E. "J.E." Martin, age 80 of Valley Springs, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Apple Ridge Health & Rehabilitation in Harrison, Arkansas.
The son of Jeff and Dovie (Marshall) Martin was born October 26, 1931 in Harrison.
He had worked for Hammerschmidt, Bonsteel and Meek Lumber for many years. He enjoyed working on cars and loved being with people.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley Martin, who died April 8, 2011; three brothers; one sister; and a grandson, Wesley.
Survivors are his sons, Clyde Martin and wife Sheila and Arthur Martin and wife Donna, all of Everton, Arkansas and David Martin of Valley Springs, Arkansas; son, Terry Martin and two other sons; two step-daughters, Sharon Coker and Patty Coker; brothers, Vernon Martin of Capps, Arkansas and Fate Martin of Wichita, Kansas; sisters, Lillie Wright and Vonda Mitchell of Harrison; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
There was a memorial service Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dwight Crowley officiating.
Honorary pallbearers were staff of Apple Ridge Health & Rehabilitation and Legacy Hospice.
