James Earl Ramsey, of Harrison, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2025.  He was 69 years old.

The son of Earl and Joella (Trammell) Ramsey was born on November 13, 1956 in Harrison, Arkansas.

James enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially when he was hunting or fishing. He also had a deep and compassionate love for horses. James devoted countless hours to rescuing horses from difficult and often heartbreaking conditions, giving them the safety, care, and dignity they deserved. His gentle spirit and unwavering commitment brought new life and hope to the animals he saved, and his efforts will be remembered as a true testament to his kindness.

James retired after 20 years with the Walmart Automotive Department, where he met many kind people and truly enjoyed his time working there. His friendly nature and genuine interest in others made him well-loved by coworkers and customers alike.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Jeffery Dale Ramsey.

Survivors include one aunt, Vivian McGehee; three uncles, Bill (Betty) Ramsey, Charles Trammell, and Wayne (Debbie) Trammell; one sister-in-law, Donna Ramsey; three nephews, Zachary, Tanner, and Trey Ramsey; and numerous cousins.

Graveside service is Monday, December 15, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Anderson Flat Cemetery.  Bill Ramsey will officiate.  Pallbearers will be members of his family.  Honorary pallbearer is Josh Massengale.
