James Carney, age 71, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2022, in Russellville, AR.

The son of Doyle and Fern (Simmons) Carney was born September 4, 1950, in Nail, AR.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Fern Carney; Eunice Carney; Ginger Carney; his brothers, Larry Gene Carney and Gary "Peanut" Carney; and 3 grandchildren, Clayton, Hailey Carney, and Ashlyn Woods.

James attended Pine Grove Church and the Christian Union Church in Nail, AR. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, Camping, and watching sports. His favorite team was the Arkansas Razorbacks.

James is survived by his father, Doyle Carney (Laura) of Nail; his sons, Michael Carney of N.C. and Jamie Carney (Kim) of Russellville, AR; his daughters, Stephanie Woods (Billy) of Clarksville, AR, and Amanda Holman (J.L.) of Clarksville, AR; his brothers Terry Carney (Becky) of Nail; his sisters, Donna Carney of Harrison, AR; and Rachael Rackley (Jack) of Russellville, AR; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members that will miss him.

The funeral service will be 2:00 PM Friday, August 12, 2022, at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper with Pastors, James Compton and Lauren Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Nail, AR.

There will be a visitation from 12:00 to 2:00 PM Friday before the service.

Pallbearers will be J.L. Holman, Kane Elmore, Kenny Stone, Darian Holman, Cody Elmore, and Kolton Holman.

Honorary pallbearers are all of his cousins.
