James Verlon Brown, age 77 of Harrison, passed away Friday, April 26, 2019 at Hospice of the Hills, Hospice House.

The son of James Audie Brown and Dora Faye Burton was born October 24, 1941 in Harrison, Arkansas.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 56 years Nadine Brown; and his brother Roger Brown.

James was a pastor at Watkins Church for over 20 years.  He loved playing his guitar and listening to music. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and being outdoors.  He was a well known and loved man.

He is survived by his daughters, Suzy Blodgett and husband Norman of Bellefonte, AR, and Connie Kate Crow of Bergman, AR; his brothers, Joe Brown and Delmar Brown both of Harrison and Tommy Brown and wife Elaine of Morning Star, AR; his sister, Shirley Jean Jones of Harrison; 5 grandchildren, Sara Jane, Elisabeth, Heather, James and Ariel and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison, AR.

Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, May 2, 2019 at the New Hope Tabernacle of Faith in Western Grove, AR with Bro. Jim Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Sherman Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Norman Blodgett, Greg Gibson, Allen Brown, James Herrmann, Kevin Brown and Jason Bradford.

Honorary pallbearers are Jay Williams and Wilber Jones.
