Jacqueline Mae Hines, age 81, of Harrison, AR, formerly of Muskegon, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, October 1, 2011, at Hospice of the Hills in Harrison.
She was born February 16, 1930, in Grand Rapids, MI, to William J. and Rita (Hamill) Hipkiss. Jackie was a 1948 graduate of Newtown High School in Elmhurst, NY. As a young woman she worked as a telephone operator in Washington, DC and New York City. In her later years, she served as a personal caregiver to the elderly in Muskegon and as a dorm mother for the Women and Children's Shelter at the Muskegon Rescue Mission. A talented musician, Jackie served as a church organist for Light House Bible Church until July 2011.
She is survived by three daughters, Jacqueline Haun of Lawrenceville, NJ, Cynthia (Tom) Coffey of Byron Center, MI, and Rita (James) Hilton of Diamond City, AR; a son, John R. Hines of Holland, MI; a stepson, Randy (Rachel) Hines of Albany, NY and Houston, TX; 7 grandchildren, Daniel Haun of Lawrenceville, NJ, Meghan Hilton, currently stationed in Balad, Iraq, Brenna Yu of Berryville, AR., Mary Hilton of Diamond City, AR, Benjamin and Sarah Coffey, both of Byron Center, MI, and Randy Hines Jr. of Galveston, TX; and one great grandchild, Bria Whitaker of Berryville, AR.
She was preceded in death by her brother, William J. Hipkiss Jr.
Visitation was Monday, October 3, 2011 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.
Funeral Service was Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at The Lighthouse Bible Church in Diamond City, AR. with Earl Hedlund officiating. Private burial will be in Maple Leaf Cemetery.
