Obituary

Jack Austin Harrison, age 89 of Jasper, Arkansas passed away on Monday, April 28, 2014 at his home.

The son of Jolly Austin Harrison and Mauda May (Phillips) Harrison was born on November 28, 1924 at Jasper, Arkansas.

He was a graduate of Jasper High School, a veteran of the U.S. Army, had worked for the Forest Service and was a farmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Wayne Harrison, Leon Harrison, Reed Harrison and Wallace Harrison; two sisters, Edna May Harrison and Janice Fowler; twin granddaughters, Jessie and Nora Self.

Survivors are his wife of 64 years, Peggy Jean (Poyner) Harrison of Jasper; children, Jerry Harrison, Jackie and husband, Jack Mefford, Nioba and husband, Rickie Self all of Jasper; one brother, Henry Harrison of Demopolis, Alabama; five grandchildren, Jamie and wife, Kimberly Mefford; Austin and wife, Katie Mefford; Emily and husband, Stanton Willis; Stacey and husband, Joshua Mitchell; Jennifer and husband, Lee Longstreth; eight great-grandchildren, Violet and Wapiti Mefford, Abigail and Jackson Mefford, Owen Longstreth, Sawyer and Jase Willis and Radley Mitchell due in July; and many nephews, nieces and other family and friends.

Memorial service for Jack was Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Jasper First Assembly of God Church. Bro. Steven Holt officiated.

Cremation arrangements have been handled by Coffman Funeral Home of Jasper.
