Jimmy Dale "J.D." Ply, age 58 of Pyatt, Arkansas passed away Saturday, August 16, 2008 at Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
The son of the late Orel Pierce Ply and Ruby Irene (Jones) Ply, he was born December 6, 1949 in Harrison, Arkansas.
He served as a Sergeant for the U.S. Marine Corps from 1968 to 1972 and served in Vietnam for nineteen months. He had worked for the U.S. Postal Service and was a roofer.
He is survived by his children, Teresa Keener and Jimmy Ply and wife, Amber all of Harrison; his grandchildren, Brandon and Dalton Keener, Nikki Ply, and Aiadan West; brothers, Monty Ply and Troy "Button" Ply both of Pyatt; sisters, Phyllis McLean of Pyatt, Darlene Hanstedt of Georgia, and Jo Lewis, Linda Goss, and Jackie Fowler all of Washington. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
There was a memorial service Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at the Pyatt Community Center with Calvin Montgomery officiating.
Honorary pallbearers were Sam King, Mack McCoy, Don Carbonie, Jr. and the USMC Cap 2-7-3.
Cremation and arrangements have been handled by Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.
