J. C. Campbell, age 77 of Jasper, AR passed away Friday, October 6, 2006 at Harrison. He was born April 4, 1929 at Log Hall, AR the son of Grover Cleveland and Martha Jane (Riddle) Campbell. He was a timer worker, a lifetime resident of Newton County, and was of the Pentecostal faith, attending area churches. He loved playing his guitar and music.
J. C. was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Larry Christopher Campbell; five brothers, Wade, Vade, Cleve, Garrett, and Clay Campbell; and three sisters, Euna Self, Evon Carter, and Lena Fay Price.
Survivors are his children, Anthony Campbell of Dover, Vonda Mayon of Omaha, Janet Watkins of Jasper, and Sherry Bolin of Mt. Judea; two brothers, Wilburn Campbell of Dover; one sister, Florene Carmack of Kansas City, MO; three sisters-in-law, Donna Campbell of Dover, Maxine Campbell of the Newton County Nursing Home, and Sally Campbell of Western Grove; sixteen grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Also surviving is the mother of his children, Shirley Campbell of Jasper.
Service was 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 9 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper. Burial was in Smith Cemetery at Vendor, AR. Visitation was 6-8 P.M. Sunday.
