Irene G.(Nichols) Young, age 95 of Harrison, formerly of Pindall, passed away at Rogers on Friday, Sept. 26, 2008.

The daughter of C. M. and Margaret A. (Orr) Nichols, she was born Dec. 30, 1912 at Glencoe, Arkansas.

She had lived her life in Pindall, until her health failed and she moved to Harrison. She served as the Postmistress for Pindall for many years and with her husband, owned and operated the Pindall store for about 40 years. She loved helping with their beef farming operation but found time to quilt, crochet, and can vegetables from their garden and also make jelly. She entered
her hand crafts and canned goods many times at the fairs where she received several blue ribbons.

Mrs Young was a member of the St. Joe Church of Christ.

Her husband of 75 years, Blaine Young, preceded her in death in Feb. 2006. Also she was preceded by her son, Don Young; 5 brothers and 4 sisters.

Survivors include her two daughters, Billie Norton of Florida and Joyce Yarbrough and husband, L. D. of Harrison; 7 grandchildren, Frank and Mike Holder, Greg Yarbrough, Jim Birdsong, Donna Young, Nikki Huckins, and Kim Cooper; seven great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday 6-8 PM and the service is Wednesday, 12:00 Noon both at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Burial will be in Western Grove Cemetery with Jerry Willis and Paul Holder officiating.

Pallbearers are Greg Yarbrough, Mike and Eric Holder, Jim Birdsong, Blaine Yarbrough, and Randy Schatz. Honorary pallbearers are Frank Holder, Bernice Schatz, Kent and Betty Nichols, and Elsie Oliver.
