Irene C. York Ashworth Roberts, age 79 passed from this world Monday, February 3, 2014. She was born February 11, 1934 the daughter of John Elmer and Ruth E. (Moore) York. Irene was a member of Southern Hills Baptist Church. She retired from Alltel after 22 years and worked at Super 8 Motel for 16 years. She was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Charles Ashworth and Aubrey Roberts; a son, Stanley Ashworth; and a nephew, David "Buck" Harness. Survivors are a son, Steve Ashworth and wife Sherry; grandsons, Christopher and Jonathan Ashworth all of Harrison; brother, Bill York and wife Bonnie of Tell City, IN; and their children, Connie Freer of Dover, DE and Terrie Greulic of Tell City, IN; sister, Maxine Harness and Roy and their children, Allen Harness, Shellie Renner all of Harrison, and Terrie Langston Harness (wife of David); and many nieces and nephews. There will be a memorial service held at a later date.
