Irene Gail McClain, age 74, of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2024 at home.

The daughter of Oren and Mildred (Whitney) Moore was born February 12, 1950 in Des Moines, Iowa and raised in Harrison, Arkansas. She moved back to Harrison 10 years ago from Corpus Christi, Texas.

She retired after a 50-year career in upholstery. She owned her own business and was well known for her upholstery work. Gail was also a former pastor and had operated a Christian School out of her home for 10 years. During that time, she always had anywhere from 6 to 38 kids.

Gail was a very tough, hardworking woman, she always gave 110% to everything she did, and she expected the same from others around her. She was selfless and charitable to others. Her love for children and caring for others expanded to her own home, where she raised many kids that were not hers by blood.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Faith Mincks; infant brother, Job Daniel Moore; an infant daughter, Gail Darlene McClain; son, Glen McClain, two daughters, Vicki Mills and Donna Patri; and a husband, Don Goodman.

Gail is survived by her husband of 18 years; Jerry McClain; her children, Ken Goodman (Carrie), Terry Goodman (Lisa), Minda Gray (Steven), Oren Lee Wilson (Christine), Raymond Sterling, Britt McClain (Heidi), Sandra Patri-Price (Jason), Job Arendall, Leroy McClain (Julie), and Natasha Lee McClain-Pignet (Brian); two brothers, George Moore (Thelma) of San Diego, CA, and Richard Moore of Flagstaff, AZ; 24 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren; and a host of extended relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, November 13 (2024) at Davidson Cemetery. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
