Obituary
Ida Davis, 92 of Deer, Arkansas passed away Wednesday January 27, 2016 at Newton County Nursing Home in Jasper, Arkansas.
The daughter of Albert and Elsie (Faught) Cowell was born November 20, 1923 at Deer, Arkansas.
She was a lifetime resident of this area where she and her husband raised their two children and she proudly worked on their farm.
Ida loved her family and her vegetable and flower gardens. She was an avid squirrel hunter and loved to share her hunting stories.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Boyd of 53 years, her sister Blanche Clayborn and an infant brother and sister.
Ida is survived by her son, Larry Davis and wife Judy of Deer, AR; her daughter, LaVita Richard and husband Larry of Harrison, AR; her brother, Wilburn Cowell and wife Laurita of Tulsa, OK; her sister, Betty Farris of Clarksville, AR; 4 grandchildren, Rachel Pifer and husband Ross of Bellefonte, PA; Mary Ellen Race and husband Dustin of Dardanelle, AR; Leslie Campbell and husband Warren of Piercetown, AR; Joe Don Richard and wife Aneesha of St. Charles, MO; 8 great grandchildren, Victoria and Olivia Campbell; Rylee Davis; Andrew, Isaac and Elizabeth Pifer; and Hudson & Rya Richard; and many nieces, nephews and friends who loved her and will miss her.
Services are Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 2pm at Coffman Chapel in Jasper with Bobby Young and Stanley Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Deer Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Donnie Davis, Ricky Davis, Larry Spradley, Jim Clayborn, Warren Campbell, Dustin Race and Joe Don Richard.
Honorary Pallbearers are the staff of Newton County Nursing Home.
Visitation is Friday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
