Hugh Ballard, age 69 of Harrison, passed away Saturday, March 27, 2010 at his home. He was born Feb. 2, 1941 in Harrison, the son of Russell and Marcella Ballard.

He was employed as a truck driver. Hugh liked to play the guitar and sing and also, enjoyed riding motorcycles.

His parents preceded him in death along with a son, Kerry Ballard; one brother, Gilford Ballard; two sisters, Joella Wake and Marie Rylee.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred (Smith) Ballard of the home; sons, Perry and Danny Ballard both of Arizona, Randy Dotson of Pelsor, and Ricky Vanzant of Harrison; daughters, Terry Ballard of Mesa, AZ, Tammy Rasmussen of Kansas, Pam Young of Pelsor, Patricia Johnson of Garfield, Rhonda Yarbrough of Harrison and Beth Barton of Peel; three brothers, Roger Ballard of Green Forest, Ronnie Ballard of Alpena, and Clifford Ballard of New Mexico; a sister, Cheryl of Batavia; many grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Service was Tuesday, March 30th at Coffman Chapel in Harrison with Roy Chisum officiating. Burial was in Smith Cemetery. There is no visitation.
Pallbearers were Danny Ballard, Perry Ballard, Lee Young, Jared Young, Randy Dotson, James Dotson, Chris Jones, Charles Dotson and Benjamin Ballard. Honorary pallbearers were his loved ones, close friends and family.
