Obituary

Hillery Herbert Keeton, age 74 passed away peacefully with family at his side on January 30, 2010. He was looking forward to spending eternity with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Herbert was born July 30, 1935 at Low Gap to Arvil and Eva (Wishon) Keeton, who preceded him in death.

Herbert was a life-long resident of Newton County and a proud alumni of Low Gap School. He served in the US Navy in 1954 and 1955. He worked for Carroll Electric from 1970 to 1977, then McClinton-Anchor (APAC) until his retirement in 2000.

He is survived by his wife, Imogene (Houston) Keeton; two sons, Bill Keeton and his wife, Dana of Jasper, Bobby Keeton and his wife, Lea Ann of Jasper; a step-son, Donald Ray McKinnon and his wife, Judy of Bethel Heights; and a step-daughter, Tropha Webb and her husband, Richard of Harrison. He was also blessed with 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and one on the way, all of whom will miss him dearly.

Visitation was held Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010 at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper. Graveside service was Friday, Feb. 5, 2010 at Low Gap Cemetery with Bro. Troy Walker officiating.

Friends and relatives served as pallbearers.
