Herman Villines, age 82 of Low Gap, Arkansas died Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.
The son of Tom and Alpha (Wishon) Villines was born on October 26, 1928 at Low Gap, Arkansas. He had worked in the timber, Arkansas Electric Coop. and Newton County Roads. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a lifetime resident of Newton County.
Herman was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother; two sisters, Blanche Dover and Eunice Jagger; two sisters-in-law, Sue Villines and Charlene Clark and a nephew, Robbie Clark.
Survivors are his wife of nearly 55 years, Marieta Villines of the home; brothers and sisters-in-law, Archie and Inez Villines of Kansas City, MO, Lex and Sue Villines of Stover, MO and Norman and Zelma Villines of Sweethome, OR; sister, Avanell Villines of Jasper; step-mother, Bonnie Villines of Harrison; half-sisters, Jerlene Bryant, Hilda Moon and Dixie Burks; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bob and Janice Clark, Ken and Linda Clark, Larry and Ann Clark, Michael and Diane Thompson, Allen and Chris Clark, David and Janet Clark and Donna Clark. Also several nieces and nephews that he helped raise.
Funeral service was Saturday, July 30, 2011 at Low Gap Church with Kenneth Clark and Brad Clark officiating. Burial followed in the Low Gap Cemetery.
Visitation was Friday, July 29, 2011 at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper.
Pallbearers were Josh Ganey, Todd House, Tim Carlton, Tim Smith, Michael Thompson and Patrick Rhodes. Honorary pallbearers were Claude Henley, Sanford Lackey, Tommy Martin, Jimmy Justice, nephews, nieces and many friends and loved ones.
