Helen Kelly, of Western Grove, Arkansas, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 25, 2024, at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center. She was 89 years old.

Betty Helen Kelly was born in Fair Oaks, Arkansas, on January 2, 1935, the daughter of Roy Daniel Smith and Reba Dickerson (Smith). She lived in several states over the years and moved back to Arkansas in 1994, right before her husband's retirement. She and Bill, an Air Force Veteran, made their home in Western Grove. She was a member of Abundant Life Church.

Helen loved shopping, home decorating, and gardening; flowers were a passion of hers. She was also a collector of many things. She enjoyed crocheting, creating many projects including large afghans, small afghans, and a wide variety of stitches. Every item she crocheted was a labor of love.

She was a kindhearted, great lady but also a little ornery and feisty. She was very compassionate and giving to others, helping anyone she could. She wouldn't give you the shirt off her back, but she would buy you a shirt if you needed one. More than anything, Helen loved her Lord. She loved to be in church and be with her church family at Abundant Life Church, who had become like her own family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William "Bill" Kelly in 1995; a son-in-law, James Henderson; and her siblings, Jim, Vernon, Ruth, and Esther; a grandson, Robert William; and great grandchildren, Cynthia, Ahlai, Amias, and Micah.

Helen is survived by her children, Cynthia Henderson of Guston, KY, Renee Cunningham (Chris) of Swan Lake, NY, and Michael D. Kelly and wife Sandy of Lebec, CA; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Erin, Daniel, Logan, Skylar, Ireland, and Olivia; eleven great grandchildren, Samuel, Matthew, Anthony, Harper, Alistair, Bennett, Arrow, Callan, Audrey, Emersyn, and Owen; and several nieces, nephews, extended relatives and many dear friends who loved her and will miss her.

Funeral service will be at 1 PM, Friday, November 29 (2024) at Holder Chapel in Western Grove with Rev. Woody Daniels officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Western Grove Cemetery.

There is no visitation.
