Obituary
Helen Opal Flickinger, of Diamond City, Arkansas passed away at home on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at the age of 71.
The daughter of Julius and Evelyn (Lasher) Olson was born on February 1, 1946 in Clarkfield, Minnesota. She married Jay Thomas Flickinger on September 4, 1964.
Helen was a longtime resident of Minnesota, moving to Diamond City, Arkansas two years ago. She loved to be with her family and also enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, photography and traveling. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She will be remembered by her family as a strong woman with a big heart, one who thought of others before herself and always found joy in the little things.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Evelyn Olson and a daughter, Cathy Marcia Flickinger.
Helen is survived by her husband of 52 years, Jay Flickinger; their children, Lane Flickinger and his wife, Julie of Montevideo, MN and Tammy Godfrey and her husband Kris of CO; two brothers, Edward Olson and Lawrence Olson both of MN; three sisters, Marcella DeJong of MN, Josephine Geerdes of AZ and Julie Bredeson of MN; five grandchildren, Kathileen Flickinger, Alycia Flickinger, Justin Flickinger, Adyson Godfrey and Avery Godfrey; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Celebration of life will be held on Wednesday June 21, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 PM at the Montevideo Community Center in Montevideo, Minnesota.
Cremation and arrangements under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison, Arkansas.
