Hazel Ruth (Daniels) Willis of Parthenon, Arkansas passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the age of 95.
The daughter of Calvin and Bessie (McPherson) Daniels was born on July 1, 1922 in Murray, Arkansas.
Hazel married Wilburn Willis on October 28, 1944 in Jasper, Arkansas. They were married 57 years before his passing in 2001.
She was a devoted Christian and attended Little Buffalo Church. She loved cooking big Sunday dinners. It was like Thanksgiving every Sunday at her house. She loved singing, making people laugh and attending church, but most of all she loved her family.
Hazel is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilburn; a son Jarrett Willis; a son-in-law, Eugene Villines; a grandson, Shane Fowler Willis; two brothers, Normal and Remal Daniels; one infant brother and two sisters, Mamie Carlton and Ruby Roberson.
She is survived by a son, Shannon Willis and wife Carolyn of Jasper; four daughters, Jo Etta Villines of Parthenon, Vendetta Sams of Parthenon, Lequitta Davis and husband Donnie of Deer and Marketta McCutcheon and husband Stanley of Parthenon; a daughter-in-law, Judy Willis of Parthenon; 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and 2 on the way, many nieces, nephews, family and friends who will mourn her passing.
Services will by held Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Coffman Chapel in Jasper with Bro. Stanton Willis, Bro. Donnie Villines and Bro. Billy Paul Matlock officiating. Burial will follow in Buffalo Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers include Dr. Jimmy Justice and the staff at the Newton County Nursing Home.
