Hazel Gelene (Henson) Collins, of Hasty, Arkansas, was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 20, 2022.  She was 89.

The daughter of Victor and Walsie (Greenhaw) Treat was born August 9, 1932 at Mount Judea, Arkansas.  She lived in Newton County most of her life and attended Bethlehem Church.

First and foremost, in her life, Hazel loved the Lord.  She loved being in church and reading her Bible.  She was a steadfast prayer warrior, especially for her family.  She enjoyed making a garden, canning and sewing.  "Granny G" was patient, compassionate and never complained.  She loved her family and had experienced true happiness the past 7 years, with her husband, James.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor Treat and Walsie and Ross Cross; her first husband of 33 years and father of her children, Arthur Henson; 2 brothers, 2 sisters and several sisters and brothers-in-law.

Hazel is survived by her husband, James Collins; her son, Junior Ray Henson and wife, Love Bug; her daughter, Glenda Ruth Campbell and husband Kenneth; two step-daughters, Diane and Terry Collins; two brothers, Frankie Cross and Troy Cross; seven grandchildren, Joy Campbell, Greg Campbell, Kay Dean, Jason Henson (Tana), Victor Henson (Misty), Melissa Campbell (Junior) and Brandy Williams (Ronnie); 18 great grandchildren, 12 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who loved her and will miss her.

Funeral service will be at 2 PM, Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper, with Evangelist Raymond Wright officiating.  Burial will follow at Mount Judea Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 PM – 7 PM at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper.

Pallbearers are Victor Henson, Jacob Shatwell, Trey Stephens, Greg Campbell, Cory Campbell and Jason Henson.

Honorary pallbearers are Kenneth Campbell, Her Granddaughters, Diane and Terry Collins, the Staff of Kindred At-Home Care and Pamella Vick.
