Hattie Elaine
Pate
August 12, 1958 – April 21, 2026
Hattie “Elaine” Pate, of Soldotna, Alaska, left this earthly life surrounded by her family on April 21, 2026, in Harrison, Arkansas. She was the second child born to Jimmie Dale and Willie Jean (Horn) White on August 12, 1958.
Elaine spent her early years along the Buffalo River with her family, where she loved riding her horse, Jubilee, and making lasting memories with her brothers and sister. She married Mack on November 3, 1984, and they moved to Alaska in 1985. Together they built an adventurous life from time spent along the Kenai River to visits with friends in Homer. In 1998, Elaine graduated from the University of Alaska Anchorage.
Relationships were deeply important to Elaine, and she nurtured them throughout her life—-not only with her close family, but also with her pets, “The Hens,” and her many long-distance friends and relatives across the country. She loved a good read with her book club, The Hen’s Annual Cookie Bake, traveling, and all things crafts. She lived a full and joyful life despite her health challenges. Those who knew her: they loved her and they never forgot her. Her memory will live on through the love she shared and the many lives she touched.
She is survived by her husband, Charles “Mack” Pate, and their beloved puppy, Huck; her brothers, Dewayne (Linda) White of Pindall and Lynn White of St. Joe; her sister-in-law, Charlene Shrock of Nome, North Dakota; and her nieces and nephews, Christl Langton, Betsy (Kerry) Kindall, Misty (Andy) Hampshire, Eric White, Sady (Jessie) Campbell, Lindsey (George) Wallis, Logan Pate, and Jessica Pate, all of whom she adored; and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Becky White Rogers; her brother-in-law, Garry Dean Pate; Joey Bird; and her cherished dog, Clady.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to a pet-focused charity such as the ASPCA or a local animal shelter.
Arrangements under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home of Harrison. On-line condolences can be left at www.coffmanfh.com.
