Obituary

Harry Arthur Rhoades, of Jasper, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri. He was 82 years old.

The son of Charles Rhoades and Mary (Isenberger) Hiestand was born on July 12, 1943 in Llano, Texas.

Harry enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether he was camping, fishing, or hunting. Above all, he cherished time with his family. Harry also had a deep love for the Lord and enjoyed attending church and reading his Bible. When his health allowed, he faithfully attended Log Hall Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Rhoades; his father, Charles Rhoades; his mother, Mary Margaret Hiestand; one brother, Homer Franklin Rhoades; one sister, Vivian Ann Williams; and one son, Charles Lee Rhoades. 

Survivors include one son and his wife, Homer and Sheri Rhoades; one daughter and her husband, Tanya and Daniel Smith; four brothers, Curtis (Denise) Rhoades, Jerry Rhoades, Scott (Cindy) Rhoades, and Doug (Marcy) Rhoades; two sisters, Misty (Kenny) Oestreich and Amber Jones; seven grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren, and two more on the way; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. 

Visitation is Monday, July 13, 2026 at Coffman Funeral Home of Jasper from 5:00 to 7:00 PM

Funeral service will be Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Coffman Funeral Home of Jasper.  Austin Williams will officiate.  Burial will be at Jasper Cemetery.  Pallbearers include Landen Rhoades, Russell Morgan, David Morgan, Michael Rhoades, and Randy Keef.  Honorary pallbearers include Dr. Kevin Jackson, Richie Myers, and the nurses and staff with the hospice team at Cox South.
