Knickerbocker
November 10, 1945 – October 21, 2021
Harry P. Knickerbocker III, of Harrison, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at his home. He was 75 years old.
The son of Col. Harry P. Knickerbocker, Jr. and Betty Lou (McDaniel) Knickerbocker, he was born in Houston, TX on November 10, 1945.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Charles and Leslie.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Pat, and his beloved daughter and son-in-law, Katherine and John Yarbrough.
Harry was very much a military man. He was the son of an Air Force officer and Army Air Corps nurse. He attended Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, MO. After graduating from Oklahoma State University, he joined the Army serving in Military Intelligence. While stationed in Tokyo, he met his future wife, Pat, an Army nurse.
After the Army, Harry was active in the life insurance business with MassMutual and was recruited to their home office where he worked for a number of years before joining their Oklahoma City office. While living in Edmond, OK, Harry and Pat were blessed with their daughter, Katherine. Harry joined the Catholic Church in 2001 and was enthusiastic about growing in his relationship with the Lord.
Throughout his life, Harry was blessed with many loving family and friends. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and camping. He and Pat canoed the Boundary Waters several times.
In 2015, Harry and Pat retired to Arkansas and fell in love with the beauty and peace of the state.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Coffman Funeral Home of Harrison from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
On Friday, October 29, 2021, there will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 PM at Mary Mother of God Catholic Church. The celebrant will be Father Jim Fanrak. The Mass will be preceded by a rosary at 1:30 PM. Burial will follow the Mass in Mary Mother of God Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Knights of Columbus Council 8410, 1614 Maplewood Road, Harrison, AR 72601 or to a Veteran's Charity of your choice.
