Obituary

Harold B. Hoover, age 93 of Jasper, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2009 at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison.

The son of William F. and Nora (Pence) Hoover, he was born December 23, 1915 at Jonesboro, Illinois.

Mr. Hoover worked as an ammunition tester for Winchester-Olin Corp. He moved to Arkansas to retire in 1972 from Illinois.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Jasper; a master gardener; and enjoyed fishing and feeding the squirrels.

His wife, Gladys preceded him in death in 1997, along with one sister, Isabell.

Survivors include his two sisters, Virginia Lackey and Dorothy Hoover both of Illinois; a niece, Debbie Wallis of Illinois; great nephews, Colin & Aaron Wallis and Don Pence; and a special close friend for many years, Jimmy Keys of Jasper.

Services were Tuesday, June 23, at Coffman Funeral Home, Jasper. Visitation was Monday from at the chapel. Burial followed in Jasper Cemetery with Pastor Shawn Allred officiating.

Pallbearers were Colin and Aaron Wallis and close friends. Honorary pallbearers were Norman Sloan, Guy Bennett, Fred Bell, and Mike Smuder.
