Harold L. Cooper, age 71 of Parthenon, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville, AR.
The son of James Theodore Cooper and Elizabeth Marie (Lambert) Cooper was born August 2, 1939 in Ukiah, California.
Harold had been a resident of Newton County for 33 years and attended the Mary Mother of God Catholic Church in Harrison.
He was a retired U.S. Navy veteran who served as an American Military Advisor to the South Vietnamese Junk Navy during the Vietnam War. He was also a respected Electronics Instructor at NACC (now known as North Ark) where he enjoyed teaching and mentoring students, young and old.
He was a friend to everyone who met him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Suzanne Cooper; and his brother, Orville Cooper.
Harold L. Cooper is survived by his sons, Harold "Bert" Cooper Jr. and wife Birgit of Harrison Arkansas and Chris Cooper and wife Gloria of Western Grove, Arkansas; his daughter Yolie Affatato and husband Peter of Ashville, North Caolina;
his brothers, Robert Cooper of Fresno, California and Donald Evans of Malibu, California; and five grandchildren, Tobias Cooper, Kevin Cooper, Shane Cooper, Suki Affatato and Sarah Cooper.
Memorial service was Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at the Mary Mother of God Catholic Church with Father James M. Fanrak officiating was held prior to service at the Church. Burial followed in Jasper Cemetery.
