Harold Junior Chester, 86 of Harrison, Arkansas passed away Friday, February 2, 2018 at Mount Vista Nursing Home in Harrison.  He was born August 11, 1931 in Hinsdale, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Alma Chester of Hilltop, his wife Betty (Armer) Chester and infant daughter, Phylis Kay.

He is survived by his brothers, Calvin Chester and wife Nancy of Hilltop and Kenneth Chester and wife Imogene of Coos Bay, OR and several nephews and nieces.

The Chester family moved from Hinsdale, IL to a farm at Hilltop in 1938.  He was a Korean War Veteran from 1952-1954, a lot of that time was spent on Pork Chop Hill.  After his discharge from the army, he and his wife Betty moved to Kansas City, MO, where he drove truck for Albert Tamm's Lumber Company.  They eventually moved back to Arkansas, purchased a farm north of Harrison where he raised and sold cattle and also worked for Claridge Products, from where he retired.

He loved to squirrel hunt with his dogs and run his fox hounds.  Going to the stock yards at Harrison and Green Forest on sale days was a highlight for him.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, February 9, 2018 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Harrison with burial to follow at Plumlee Cemetery.   There will be no visitation.

Pallbearers are Terry Chester, Jeremy Venable, Brandon Chester, Joshua Cox, Andy Chester and Marvin Sims.

His family would like to thank the staff at Mount Vista Nursing Home for taking care of Harold for many years.  A very special thanks to his niece, Beverly, whom he daily yelled for her to bring him coffee and cookies, he was fond of anything that contained chocolate.
