Hudson Augustus "Hap" Teter, age 86, of Harrison, Arkansas passed away at home on Thursday, August 15, 2024.
He was born August 1, 1938, in Beverly Hills, California. He was a 1957 graduate of Jasper High School and devoted many years to his dairy farm in the Murray/Parthenon community.
Hap was a former resident of Newton County and served as a J.P with Newton County Quorum Court for several years. He was an instrumental leader in the movement to protect landowner's rights in the Buffalo River Valley. He was a member of the Newton County Soil Conservation District. He also held a Lifetime International Senatorship of Jaycee's.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn Bailey Teter and Grace Elizabeth (Hudson) Teter; his former wife, Rhonda Rae (Clark) Teter; three stepbrothers, Glenn, Bill and Jack Teter and one step-sister, Mary Lou Fuhrman.
Hap is survived by his four daughters, RaLenn McBee (Carl) of Flippin, Cary Foley (Bobby) of Harrison, Jenny House (Kelvin) of Low Gap, and Sara Richmond (Andy) of Hugo, OK; his grandchildren, Josh Kawai, Amelia Bower, Kevin Hudson, Allison Foley, Caleb House, Morgan Richmond, Shelli Casey, Tabitha Stockdale, Carl McBee Jr., Sarah Jones and Chanda Klenczar; and his great-grandchildren; Lana, Matilda, Dorothy, Levi, Kellan, Audra, Jeremiah, Dustin, Lizlynn, Layne, Luke, Carl (Pete), Lucy, Jaxton and Kaylee.
A memorial service to honor Hap's life will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, August 24 (2024) at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper. Pastor James Compton will officiate.
A graveside memorial for both Hap and his ex-wife Rhonda Teter, who passed a week before him, will be held at Buffalo Cemetery Parthenon after the memorial service. All who wish to attend are encouraged.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital at www.archildrens.org/donate or Heifer's International at www.heifer.org.
