Grant Samuel Taylor of Jasper, Arkansas passed from this life on March 20, 2017 at Harrison, Arkansas at the age of 84.
The son of Vester and Lillie (Daniels) Taylor was born on August 12, 1932 at Wayton, Arkansas.
Grant was a charter member of the Wayton Freewill Baptist Church and served as a deacon. He was a perpetual member of the Jasper Masonic Lodge. He served as Newton County Emergency Manager for 6 years. He loved God, his family and loved playing music. He loved visiting and talking with people. The most enjoyable times of his life was getting together with family and friends for a day of music, visiting and eating. Grant worked as a construction contractor for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Lettie Taylor and a sister, Modena Taylor.
Survivors are his wife, Kathy Taylor of Jasper; three sons, Tony Taylor and Clinton Taylor both of Wayton and Delbert Chasteen of Jasper; four daughters, Meshelle Kilgore of Jasper, Claudina Taylor of Harrison, Stacey Rigsbee of Jasper and Lisa Melsom of Clarksville; one sister, Pauline Hendrix of Wayton; thirteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
Services will be 2 P.M. Thursday, March 23, 2017 at the Wayton Freewill Baptist Church with his son, Brother Tony Grant Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Wayton Cemetery under the direction of Coffman Funeral Home of Jasper.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Casey, David Casey, Erby Daniels, Gil Jeane, Wendall Rigsbee and Hillcrest Rehab staff.
Open visitation from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper.
