IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Goldie Mae
Henderson
February 16, 1934 – September 4, 2023
Goldie Mae Henderson of Springdale passed away on Monday, September 4, 2023, at home. She was 89 years old.
Goldie was the daughter of Garland and Clara Reynolds born on February 16, 1934, in Deer, Arkansas. Goldie was the third born of 8 sisters in a family of homesteaders.
Goldie married Donald Henderson in Deer, AR on November 26, 1952. They initially worked on the west coast of the U.S. picking fruit. They moved back to Arkansas after their first son was born and later moved to Springdale where Donald was a barber. Goldie worked in the home raising their children and also worked in the cafeteria of Springdale's Central Junior High School for 15 years. Goldie and Donald maintained deep roots in their beloved Newton County, Arkansas. They retired there in 2004 where they adventured and explored the hills and valleys of the Buffalo National River area on four-wheelers. She enjoyed cooking, camping, being outdoors, working in her yard, and keeping things neat and clean. She loved old-fashioned ways and she loved having a system and a place for everything! She placed her faith in Jesus as a young mother. She attended and was a member of Phillips Chapel FWBC for over 60 years.
Goldie was preceded in death by her husband Donald, of 56 years, her parents, and four of her sisters.
Goldie is survived by three sisters, Ruby Henderson of Russellville, AR, Louie Ann Bridges of Tontitown, AR, and Loretta Candy of Guntersville, AL; her children, Allen Henderson (Jennifer) of Springdale, Mike Henderson (Danielle) of Springdale, and Roxana Estep (Ray) of Springdale and eleven grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Friday, September 8, 2023, at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper with Brother Gerald Bridges officiating. Burial will follow in Wayton Cemetery.
