Obituary
Gloria Fisher, age 71 of Harrison, AR went to meet her Heavenly Father on September 5, 2009 with her family around her.
She was born Gloria Yvonne Garner on July 12, 1938 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Frances (Ashley) and James Garner. She grew up in the Cherryvale area where she rode her horse to school up until the fourth grade. She played trombone, was a majorette in the marching band and was acive on the Student Coucil and graduated from Cherryvale High School in 1956.
Gloria married the love of her life, Joe Fisher on December 26, 1955. They raised their family in Coffeyville, Kansas where they owned and operated a cow and goat dairy farm. She kept the kids active in livestock shows, winning many trophies and awards. Gloria enjoyed her horses and loved taking them with the kids on trail rides, camping, trips and horse shows. They lived in Coffeyville until 1994, when they moved to Harrison. They bought land and built a goat dairy. Gloria loved the country and being outdoors. She loved seeing the many changes and light in the hills of Arkansas. Her dog, Ashley was one of the many animals she loved through the years.
Gloria will be dearly missed by her family and friends. We will celebrate her life and look forward to seeing her again in Heaven.
She is survived by her husband, Joe of the home; her children: Son, Randy Fisher and Karen of Branson, MO, daughter, Twila and Gary Sueitz of Coffeyville, KS, Son Roger and Joyce Fisher of Coffeyville, KS and daughter, Tonia and Rick Mohr of Grandview, Texas; her sister, Janette Cramer of Ft. Collins, CO; sisters-in-law, Carol Garner of Coffeyville, KS, and Sue and Larry Wichman of Emmit, KS; a brother-in-law, David Fisher of Athens, GA; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Wayne Garner; a grandson, Heath Ryan Sueitz, and great granddaughter, Claire Annabell Adkins.
Visitation was Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at Coffman Funeral Home.
Services were the funeral home chapel Wednesday, September 9, 2009. Bobby Brown officiated. There was a graveside service held at Robbins Cemetery in Dearing, Kansas on Thursday, September 10, 2009.
Honorary Pallbearers were Hospice House staff where memorials may be made to them in Gloria's memory at 501 E. Sherman Ave., Harrison, AR 72601.
