Glenn Everett Baughman and Erna Carol (Wienert) Baughman were married on October 12, 1956. They were married 66 years at the time of Carol's passing on July 26, 2023. Glenn was reunited with her at his passing July 2, 2024.
Carol was born December 13, 1937 in Elmhurst, Illinois to parents Walter Otto and Erna Elizabeth (Wesche) Wienert. She was a graduate of Valley Springs High School.
Glenn was born August 2, 1936 in Harrison, Arkansas to parents Arlus Matthew and Virgie Walters (Murphy) Baughman. He was a graduate of Harrison High School.
They were both hard workers, Carol for Boone County Hospital, and Glenn for MMI-Mass Merchandisers/McKesson. Together, they owned and operated W.E.E. Discount Furniture on the square in Downtown Harrison. In her spare time, Carol loved reading books and doing crossword puzzles, while Glenn enjoyed tournament bowling and family genealogy.
Glenn and Carol are survived by their daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Darell Brooks; Carol's sister-in-law, Ora Wienert; and Glenn's siblings, Lee Baughman; Duveen Norton, and Karen Moore; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Preceding them in death were their parents, Carol's siblings, Lois Wienert, Anne King, Joan Mathis, and Bud Wienert; a niece, Judy (Mathis) Lytle; relatives that have passed after Carol include her brother, Bob Wienert and a niece, Linda Joy (Wienert) Lewis; and Glenn's siblings, Roy Dean Baughman and Clifford Baughman; and two nephews, Jeffery Baughman and Jimmy Baughman.
A memorial service to celebrate the lives of Glenn and Carol will be held at 2 PM, Friday, July 26 (2024) at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Harrison. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 1 PM.
