A Boswell
December 15, 1934 – April 7, 2019
Glen A. Boswell (Buz to everyone who knew him) was 84 when he passed away peacefully, early April 7 th .
He was the son of Alva Franklin Boswell and Eulah Atkinson Boswell of Mt Olympus, Indiana.
He lived his last 40 years in Harrison.
Buz's first career was teaching in Junior High, High School, and Junior College.
His second career was in publishing where he sold college textbooks for Harper&Row and Scott-Foresman.
His final career was as a real estate broker with Joey Paul at Wagon Wheel Realty in Harrison, AR.
He retired in 2009.
He was a long-time member of St. John's Episcopal Church where he served one term on the vestry. His was baptized at Grace Episcopal Church in Muncie Indiana in 1961.
Buz loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed the annual hunting trips with friends.
Another deep love was reading…he read everything from mysteries to mythology.
He was known for his honesty, political activism, willingness to organize and good deeds. The Compton Volunteer Fire Dept. and the many folks who he and his friends Chuck and George, built wheelchair ramps for will remember him well.
His lifelong hero was Harry S Truman, who once said, "I don't give 'em hell. I just tell the truth and they think it's hell."
Buz is survived by his wife, Lena Grace (Kell) Boswell and a brother, Wayne, of Indianapolis Indiana: his two children: Robert M. Boswell of Harrison and Susan Boswell Pierce of Vancouver, WA.: his grandchildren, Ross Michael Boswell of Cody, WY , Andrew Stephen Boswell of Madison, Wisconsin , Philip Pierce of Springfield, MO and Katharine Eddins of Troutdale, OR and his great-granddaughters: Danielle, Jazmine, Phoenix, Ruthie, Lucy, and Ella Grace.
We all miss him.
Memorial service will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, April 12, 2019 at St. John's Episcopal Church in Harrison with Father Greg Hoover officiating. A visitation and 11:30 AM buffet will be held with family and friends prior to the 1:00 PM service.
