Gladys Summitt, age 80 of Harrison, passed away December 12, 2010 at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center.

The daughter of Truman and Lela Ann (Hunter) Nichols was born November 16, 1930 in Pointe Peter, Arkansas.

Gladys enjoyed playing cards with her friends and spending time with her family. She especially loved babies.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, T.J. Nichols; her son-in-law, Tom Duck.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years and father of their children, Bob Summitt; her son and daughter-in-law Bill and Sandra Summitt; her daughters and sons-in-law Sharon and Billy John O'Dell, Susan Duck, and Tammy and Randey Jones all of Harrison; her sisters, Ruby Delk and Nothella "Toddy" White both of Harrison; 9 grandchildren, Angie Pratt, Greg O'Dell, Ginger Murray, Libby Journagan, Rochelle Phifer, Heather Mathis, Matt Weaver, Ryan Summitt and Kellie Jones; and 16 great grandchildren, Austin, Jordan, Jessica, Ben, Tori, Drew, Sydney, Collin, Lilly, Elias, Jackson, Parker, Reece, Carson, Sophia, and Fletcher.

There was a funeral service Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Harrison with Arlis Thrasher officiating. Visitation was open during business hours on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Maple Leaf Cemetery at a later date.

Cremation and arrangements were handled by Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.
