Obituary
Gladys C. Powers, age 85 of Harrison, Arkansas passed away Monday, May 11, 2009 at Golden Living Harrison Nursing Center in Harrison.
The daughter of Marion F. and Minnie M. (Sullivan) Lewis, she was born February 7, 1924 in Bruno, Arkansas.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed being with her family and friends. She also enjoyed dancing and working in her flower beds.
Her parents preceded her in death, along with her husband, Lex Powers; one son; one daughter; two sisters; and a half brother.
Survivors are her sons, Randy Powers of Marble Falls, Eugene Powers of Harrison, David Powers of Marble Falls, and William Powers of El Reno, Oklahoma; her daughter, Sandy Huff of Marble Falls; four brothers, Garland Lewis of Harrison, Claude Lewis of Western Grove, Virgil Lewis of Desota, Kansas, and Clifton Lewis, also of Kansas; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two special friends, Lola Criner and Helen McNair, and a very special niece, Wanda Howell.
Visitation was Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Service was Thursday, May 14, 2009 at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Kerry Liggett officiating. Burial followed in Eoff Cemetery at Harrison. Pallbearers are Gene Claggett, Scott Ruble, Rick Evans, Cody Mangrum, Johnny Callen, and Gary Bray. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Blake Chitsey, her grandchildren, and the Harrison School Maintenance Department.
