Gladys Mildred Pledger, age 94 of Harrison, Arkansas passed away Friday, March 2, 2012 at Hillcrest Home in Harrison.
The daughter of Harvey and Ethel (Wagner) Hunt was born October 14, 1917 in Harrison.
Gladys was a lifelong resident of Harrison. She was an active member of First Christian Church for 51 years and also a member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class. She was a founding member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Chi Chapter in Harrison, being involved for 65 years. She was also an active member of the Retired Teacher's Association and taught elementary school for 37 years at Valley Springs, Eureka Springs, and Harrison.
She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and enjoyed being with friends.
Her parents preceded her in death along with her husband, Amos Pledger, Jr.; and a brother, Clarence Hunt.
Survivors are her sons, David Pledger and wife Missy of Fayetteville and Jerry Pledger and wife Linda of Harrison; brother, Clyde Hunt of Edmond, Oklahoma; sister, Mary Lois Wier of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and two grandchildren, Cara Pledger and Quinn Pledger.
Visitation was Monday, March 5, 2012 at First Christian Church in Harrison.
Service was Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at First Christian Church with Dr. David Artman and Rev. Robert Shaddox officiating.
Burial followedwere Grubb Springs Cemetery with pallbearers being Quinn Pledger, Gordon Patterson, Steve Pledger, Jim Hunt, Lee Orth, Danny Roth, Robert Parkinson, and Tom Hunt.
Honorary pallbearers are Neoma Parker, Ross and Johnette Parker, Tammie Roth, and the staff of Hillcrest Home.
