Obituary
Gladys May (Roum) Morse age 72 of Western Grove, Arkansas passed away Monday, January 2, 2017 at the Newton County Nursing Home in Jasper.
The daughter of William E. and Blanche E. (Starkey) Roum was born on August 30, 1944 in Montour Falls, New York. She had worked as a cook for a day care; was of the Baptist faith and had moved to Newton County in 1992 from Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Lorence Morse; a son Harry Morse and a step-sister Barbara Lafler.
Survivors are two sons William Morse of Florida and Lorence Morse II and wife Melissa of Orlando, Florida; a daughter Bertha Nichols and husband Ronald of Western Grove, Arkansas; a daughter-in-law Felecity (Ryhal) Morse of Pennsylvania; three brothers Stephen and Ann Roum of Arizona, David and Maria "Chayo" Roum of Louisiana and Kenneth "Rusty" and Vickie Beard of Louisiana; a step-sister Carol Lafler of Florida; a very special friend and "brother" David Streichert of Jasper; five grandchildren Rex and Danielle Cross, David and Laila Cross, Christina and Walter Lumpp, Isabella Morse and Emily Morse; five great-grandchildren Ethan, Tucker, Taylor, Morgan and Lindsay.
A memorial service will be held Friday, January 6, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper with Michael Nichols officiating.
Honorary pallbearers are the Newton County Nursing Home staff and residents.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Newton County Nursing Home, P.O. Box 442, Jasper, Arkansas 72641.
