Gerald A. "Jerry" Spears, age 73 of Linn Valley, KS, passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at Olathe Medical Center in Olathe, KS.
The son of Logan and Eva (Thompson) Spears, was born September 10, 1934 in Hoquina, WA.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He had lived in Linn Valley for 12 years, moving from Kansas City, KS, where he had lived 30 years.
His parents preceded him in death, along with his wife, Minnie (Dotson) Spears; a step-son, Lee Reddell; and two grandsons.
Survivors are his daughters, Barbra Camper, Dora Wilson, and Jerri Ann Barclay, all of Washington; brothers, Ralph, Kenny, Bob, Walt, Don, Dale, Steve, and Ronnie Spears; sisters, Daisy, Donna,and Ruth; seven grandchildren, Tammy Wilhite, Paul Camper, Clint Wilson, Michael Evans, Shirley Gump, Barbie Gogos, and Jimmy Reddell; and thirteen great grandchildren.
Visitation was Monday, February 11, 2008 at Coffman Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper, with the service Tuesday, February 12, 2008. Rev. Charles Christian officiated. Burial was in Cowell Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bob Spears, Michael Evans, Jimmy Reddell, Dwight Buxton, Jr., Travis Freeman, and David Dotson.
Honorary pallbearers were all of Jerry's nephews.
