George Eddings, Jr., age 76 of Harrison, AR passed away Saturday, April 14, 2007 at his home in Harrison.
The son of George Eddings, Sr. and Mary (Rich) Eddings, was born October 11, 1930 in Hasty, AR.
He had moved to California for a few years, before returning here in 1958. He was a member of Union Road Assembly of God and was a farmer. He was an airplane mechanic, built an airplane, and was also a private pilot. He built guitars and mandolins and worked at Ranger Boat for about 4 years. He did the work of assembling and publishing tracts to be sent to Africa for the church. He enjoyed singing and playing the guitar and harmonica for Church specials.
His parents preceded him in death, along with a sister, Willa Roberts.
Survivors are his wife, Hazel (Martin) Eddings, of the home; son, Terry Eddings and his wife, Kathy of Harrison; daughter, Debra Barron and her husband, John of Omaha; sisters, Freda Spears of Lowell and Ruby Hopper of Hollister, MO; grandchildren, Anthony Swartz, Aaron Swartz, Todd Swartz, Nathan Swartz, Casey Eddings, Brad Barron, and Sheri Roe; and thirteen great grandchildren. He is also survived by many, many other relatives and friends,all who respected and loved him dearly.
Visitation was Tuesday, April 17 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Service was Wednesday, April 18 at the Coffman Chapel with his son, Pastor Terry Eddings officiating. John Barron will assist in the service. Burial followed in Maplewood Cemetery. Pallbearers were his grandsons and honorary pallbearers, the staff of Hospice of the Hills.
