George Glen James, age 78 of Iowa Park, Texas passed away Friday, September 26, 2008 in Wichita, Texas.
George was born January 26, 1930 in Jasper, Arkansas the son of Dewey and Velma (Brasel) James. He was a graduate of Jasper School in Jasper, Arkansas. He married Peggy Newton on August 2, 1952 in Marshall, Texas and retired from Halliburton in 1991, where he worked as a Field Man.
George loved his family and his hobbies of hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harold and Tom James; and one sister, Vala Butts.
Surviving are his wife, Peggy of the home; two daughters, Suzette Morgan and her husband, Doyle and Nigel Uline and her husband, Carl, all of Iowa Park, Texas; two grandsons, Mark Ewell of Graham, Texas and Matthew Morgan of Iowa Park, Texas; one granddaughter, Stormy James of Iowa Park, Texas; two great grandchildren; four brothers, Bruce James and his wife, Ella Mae of Gainsville, Texas, Lex James and his wife, Lynda of Pawhuska, Oklahoma, Lytle James and his wife, Connie, and Gerald James and his wife, Betty, all of Jasper, Arkansas; four sisters, Hazel Peoples of Jasper, Arkansas, Goldia Knotts of Clarksville, Arkansas, Jean Hudson and her husband, J.C. of St. Joseph, Missouri, Sue Nell Morris and her husband, Bill of Clarksville, Arkansas; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy James of Palestine, Texas, and Lois James of Wheatland, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews.
There was viewing and visitation before the service began Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at Jasper First Assembly of God. Rev. Vernon Fowler officiated. Burial followed in Jasper Cemetery.
Arrangements have been handled by Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper, Arkansas.
