Genevieve Swafford, of Anderson Flat, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 15, 2017 at Cox Medical Center in Branson at the age of 73.

The daughter of Frank and Drucilla (Keeling) Hatcher was born June 10, 1944 at Marshall, Arkansas.

She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Searcy and Marion Counties and a member of Beckham Church. She was active in her community and involved in fundraising for Anderson Flat Old Church Schoolhouse to enable the renovation and expansion of the Anderson Flat Old Schoolhouse and Church.

She loved going to yard sales and thrift stores and shopping for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed canning and gardening and talking on the phone.  At home, her beloved "Puppy", or "Purpy" as she called her, was always by her side.

"MeMa", as she was known to her family and friends, was very loving and caring and cherished her family. She placed everyone's needs ahead of her own, and could always be counted on for her sense of humor. Christmas was her favorite holiday and she shopped and saved year round to make sure each and every one of her family had a special gift.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jerry Swafford in 2014, two brothers, Clifford and Clifton Hatcher; a great granddaughter, Elsie Ruth Trammell; her sister-in-law, Lena Cothran, who was like her own sister, and several other brothers-and sisters-in-law.

Genevieve is survived by her sons, Tim Swafford (Rita) of Flippin, Jeff Swafford and James Swafford (Katrina) all of Anderson Flat; her daughter, Tammy Spence (Irl) of Anderson Flat; her sisters, Shirley Sherrod of St. Joe, Louise Branton of TX and Marie Acosta of OH; six grandchildren, Samantha, Valerie, Mary Beth, Austin, Brookelynn, Billy and a granddaughter on the way, Mable Jo; seven great grandchildren, Kenyon, Kierra, McKinsey, Hailey, Devon, Myriah and Olivia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who loved her and will miss her dearly.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, December 18, 2017 at Anderson Flat School House with Danny Spence officiating. Burial will follow at Anderson Flat Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Chris Trammell, Irl and Austin Spence, Ron and Wade Cothran, Joe, Kenneth and Hun Swafford and Tommy and Steven Sherrod.

Honorary Pallbearers are Brad and Mike Hatcher.

Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7 PM at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Anderson Flat School House Fund, 3086 MC 5013, Everton, AR, 72633.
