Gary Curtis Valentine passed away February 2, 2021, at North Arkansas Medical Center in Harrison.

Visitation is Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Coffman Funeral Home from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM

A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Coffman Funeral Home at 2:00 PM

Gary was born on January 7, 1954, at the US Army Hospital, Ft Hood TX, where his father, Carl Valentine, was stationed.  Carl, wife Ernestine, and Gary moved to Harrison after Carl retired from the military.

After graduating from Harrison High School in 1972, Gary worked at RockTenn for 17 years.  After a heart attack, he could only do odd jobs, but he always felt the need to work.

On December 28, 1982, Gary married Bonita Thurman, who survives him.  For 37 years, they remained at each other's side.  He is also survived by his brother, Mitchell Valentine and wife Connie; nephew, Mitchell Valentine Jr. and his children Hailey Lynn and Dylan Cooper; nephew, Cody Valentine; sister, Sheri Valentine; sister, Sheila Wilkes and husband Evan; stepdaughter, Christy Arnold and her children Jaron Jenkins, Justin Jenkins and wife Megan, and their son Dawson; stepdaughter, Karla Petricone and her daughter Victoria; and stepson, Jason Palmer and partner Shane, and their children Carlene and Marye Bella.

His brother, Mike Valentine is deceased.

Gary seemed to know everyone in the community and had many friends.  He loved to fish, hunt, camp, travel, and he loved his dog Izzy.  Above all, he loved the Lord, his wife Bonita, and they all loved their friend Tara Brown who was more like a daughter.  Gary's favorite songs were The Anchor Holds, and the Military Taps song.
