Gary Lee Osborne, Sr., age 70 of Alpena, Arkansas passed away Saturday, July 5, 2014 at his home.

The son of Walter and Doris (Theetge) Osborne was born March 22, 1944 in Waverly, New York.

Gary was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had been machine operator at Rock-Tenn for many years. He had lived in this area for 40 years, moving from Pennsylvania. He was a member of Alpena First Baptist Church. He enjoyed photography, traveling, and reading about history.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lloyd Osborne.

Survivors are his wife of 46 years, Merna (Brown) Osborne of the home; son, Gary Lee Osborne, Jr. and wife Carrie of Harrison; daughter, Christine Karpinski and husband David of Derby, Kansas; sisters, Janice Rowe and husband Bill of Rome, Pennsylvania and Laura Clark and husband John of Athens, Pennsylvania; and six grandchildren, Michael Karpinski and wife Ashley, Aaron Doyle and wife Emily, Patric Doyle, Vincent Karpinski, Courtney Karpinski, and Amanda Copeland. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Alpena First Baptist Church.

The funeral service was Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Alpena First Baptist Church with Bro. Freddie Blevins officiating.

Burial followed in Alpena Cemetery with pallbearers being Michael Karpinski, Aaron Doyle, Patric Doyle, Vincent Karpinski, Joey Kelly, and David Karpinski.
