Gary Lee Hicks, age 74 of Wayton, AR, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020 at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center.

The son of Author Lee and Imogene (Henderson) Hicks was born on October 12, 1946 in Wayton, AR.

While living in Springdale Gary worked at HK Porter and Krauss Construction.  After moving to Wayton, he worked mainly for the Newton County Road Dept.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Kathryn Hicks and his dad Author Lee Hicks.

Survivors include his mom, Imogene Hicks; two sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Kelly Hicks of Huntsville, AR and Steve and Denise Hicks of Wayton, AR; his daughter and son-in-law, Shelly and Gary Smith of Vendor, AR; his brother Hal Hicks and wife Marilyn of Berryville, AR; his sister, Judy Sullins and husband David of Springdale, AR; 6 grandchildren, Channing Hicks and wife Amanda, Laken (Smith) Clark and husband Curtis, Alyssa "Widdee" (Hicks) Clark and husband Quentin, Kalee Smith and fiance Colt Jackson, Dawson Hicks and Trayson Hicks; four great-grandchildren, Braylon Hicks, Tinley Hicks, Ryker Hicks and Palin Kathryn Clark; a very special friend, Shirley Willis; and lots of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at the First Assembly of God in Jasper with Brother Steve Holt and Brother Kenny Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Wayton Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

In compliance with state Covid-19 mandates, everyone over age 10 is required to furnish and wear a mask.

Pallbearers will be Channing Hicks, Dawson Hicks, Trayson Hicks, Curtis Clark, Quentin Clark, and Colt Jackson.

Honorary pallbearers are Braylon Hicks, Ryker Hicks, JR Looper, Hope Brasel, Paul Lasater, Troy Walker, and Desiree Looper.
