Frederick James Schwanz passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at the age of 78 in Harrison, Arkansas.  He was born on September 21, 1942 in Perham, Minnesota.  His parents, Fred (Fritz) and Bette Schwanz preceded him in death.  Fred was the oldest of six siblings.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Linda of 54 years; his two children, son, Tim Schwanz and daughter, Catherine (Kitty) Carnes and husband Brian; four grandchildren, two of which he helped raise, Nathaniel Schwanz and wife Kenzie and his little red headed side-kick, Sierra Schwanz, Zachary Carnes and wife Lauren and Nicole Carnes; his much loved siblings, brother, Robert Schwanz and wife Judy, sister, Lynn Kraklau and husband Larry, sister, Sue Winscher, sister Karen Schwanz and sister, Barbie Kefer and husband Mike, also numerous nieces and nephews.

Fred served our country proudly for 24 years in the US Navy.  After retiring from the military, he worked as the design engineer for Hughes Aircraft for 11 years.  He was an avid Nascar fan and Green Bay Packer fan.  Most of all, he loved his hunting and fishing trips with his dad, Fritz.  Fred's interment will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.  RIP my darling.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Fred's memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
