Freda Mae Smith passed away Monday, July 11, 2011 at her home in Low Gap, Arkansas at the age of 70.
She was born November 16, 1940 at Low Gap, the daughter of Fate and Bertha (Carlton) Villines.
She was a member of the Low Gap Full Gospel Church and had worked as a nurses aide for 14 years. She married her husband, Jake Smith on July 12, 1958 in Harrison, Arkansas. Freda had lived most of her life in Newton County.
Freda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of forty-six years, Jake Smith; three brothers, Gary Villines, Homer
Villines and Robert and wife, Euteva Villines and a daughter-in-law, Lela Smith.
Survivors are her children, daughter, Tammy and husband Grady Fusion of Low Gap; daughter, Robin and husband Randy Reynolds of Low Gap; sons, Tim Smith of Mountainburg and Terry Smith of Low Gap; seven grandchildren, Jason, Jarrett and Justin Matlock, Ashley Hampton, Randy Steven Reynolds, Telena Smith-Renfro and Jacob Smith. Four great-grandchildren, Anna, Cole and Addison Matlock and Jake Reynolds. Special brother and sisters, Ruby and Bobbie Carlton, Marita Villines and Jane Kilgore and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Thursday, July 14, 2011 at the Low Gap Full Gospel Church with Rev. Donnie Villines and Rev. Kenny Clark officiating. Burial followed in Low Gap Cemetery.
Visitation was Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper.
Pallbearers weree Jason Matlock, Jarrett Matlock, Justin Matlock, Randy Steven Reynolds, Jacob Smith, Brandon Hampton and Allen Smith. Honorary pallbearers were granddaughters, granddaughters-in-law, great-grandchildren and the staff of Hospice of the Hills.
