Obituary

Fletcher Dean, "Dad" arrived in Heaven February 13, 2014 after a good long life of 92 years. He was born in Snowball, Arkansas on February 2, 1922. He was the sixth of ten children born to Ernest and Pearl Wells Dean. Ava, Lunce, Jack, Rachel, Carthel, Darrell, and Maggie, all preceded him in death. Two sisters, Ruth Snow of Marshall and Estelle Shandy of Billings, Montana survive him.Dad served in WWII as a member of the Signal Corps. After returning from the war, he met Ruby Sisco and they were married on January 3, 1947. They lived in several locations before settling in a home just down the road from the Union Y Church where they raised their family. He worked for Oberman's briefly before becoming employed with Claridge Products where he worked for 34 years before retiring.Dad liked to hunt, but he loved to fish and dig ginseng. He was a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, Arkansas Razorbacks and the Western Grove Warriors. He kept the score clock at the Western Grove home basketball games for many years. He watched and cheered for his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids always looking forward to the next game. He was a founding member and deacon of the Western Grove Bible Church. He enjoyed sitting on the back pew to greet or be greeted by everyone who entered.Dad was preceded in death by two sons, Charles and Wayne; a grandson, Garrett; and his wife of 61 years, Ruby. He is survived by two sons, Alan of Valley Springs and Keith of Western Grove; a daughter, Darlene Hudson and her husband Ricky of Western Grove; 14 grandkids; and 12 great-grandkids.Visitation was Sunday, February 16, 2014 with the service Monday, February 17, 2014 both at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison. Dennis Sisco officiated the service. Burial followed in Western Grove Cemetery with pallbearers being Ricky Hudson, Steven Baker, Cody Hudson, Darryld Pottorff, Dan Brown, Wes McWherter, Dustin Dean, and Wes Dean.Memorials may be made to Western Grove Bible Church, 3086 Mt.
