Obituary

Faye Savage, of Harrison, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at The Springs of Harrison. She was 81 years old.

The daughter of Jesse and Elvis “Cupa” (Langford) Matlock was born on July 24, 1944 in Harrison, Arkansas.

Faye was a devoted Christian woman who faithfully attended Crossroads Community Church. She had a deep love for people, which was evident throughout her life’s work. Faye dedicated 25 years to JCPenney, where she formed many lasting friendships. After “retiring,” she began a career in banking, serving customers with kindness at Community First Bank and Bank of the Ozarks. She later worked at Brian Johnson State Farm, where her care for others and her community continued to shine.

When she wasn’t working, Faye could often be found in her kitchen, where she found great joy in cooking. She was especially known for her famous porcupine meatballs and chocolate pie. Faye loved entertaining and hosting family gatherings, creating a warm and welcoming home for all who entered. She took great pride in keeping her home immaculate.

Above all, Faye cherished her family. She absolutely adored her grandchildren and treasured every moment spent with them. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion that will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Stephanie Schriner; her parents; and her aunt, Mima Lutz.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 36 years, Johnny Savage; one daughter, Heather Garry; son, Mike (Anita) Savage; grandchildren, Autumn (Sim), Josh (Kal) , Morganne (Jarrett), Nick, Tori, and Alex (Hannah); great grandchildren, Lou Ellen, Scout, Beckett, Hattie, and baby Lawsyn, who has yet to make her arrival; twin brother, Richard Clay Matlock; two sisters, Sherry Gregory and Jessie Hancock; nieces and nephews, Shonna (Jerry), Sheila Ann, Amy (Nathan), Jesse Clay (Stacy), Wes (Rana), Jennifer (Nathan), and Lynn (Colby); and a host of other family and friends.

A visitation will be on Monday, May 4, 2026 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Coffman Funeral Home of Harrison.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Blake Chitsey, Sabrina Bowen, and to the staff and nurses at The Springs of Harrison and Legacy Hospice.
