James Farris Cook, age 80 of Bass, Arkansas passed away Saturday, February 15, 2014 at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Harrison, Arkansas.
Farris was born December 12, 1933 the son of Howard and Posie (Standridge) Cook at Bass, Arkansas.
He was a retired school bus driver for Mt. Judea Schools and has really enjoyed farming since his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Paulette (Sain) Cook; a sister, Fern Bell; his mother and father-in-law, Lois and Devoe Sain; and two brothers-in-law, Gene Turner and Johnny Sain.
Survivors are his son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Christine Cook of Bass; two grandsons, Matthew Cook and Justin Cook of Bass; two sisters, Patsy Hamm and husband Wayne of Fayetteville and Lois Turner of Springfield, Missouri; brother-in-law, Dennis Sain of Lurton; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be 6-8 P.M. Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Coffman Funeral Home in Jasper.
Service 2 P.M. Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Mt. Judea Church of Christ with Jimmie McCutcheon officiating.
Burial will follow in Mt. Judea Cemetery with pallbearers being Terry Hamm, Jerry Hamm, Bill Hamm, Mason Hamm, Chance Hamm, and Cody Hamm.
Honorary pallbearers are Justin Cook, Matthew Cook, Mack Cook, Carl Louis Cook, Ronnie Campbell, Dale Tennison, Jerry Kent, and Kenny Hill.
