Obituary
Gene Saling, age 95 of St. Joe, passed away Friday, November 26, 2010 at Bristol Pointe Nursing Home in Harrison, Arkansas.
The son of Rudolph and Mattie (Knox) Saling was born October 18, 1915 in Rogers Mills County, Oklahoma.
He enjoyed riding horses and wagon riding.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife and mother of Loyce, Lorean Saling, 2nd wife, Hazel Saling and 3rd wife Clady Saling; 2 brothers; and 3 sisters.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Loyce and Joyce Saling of St. Joe; his adopted son Eddie Saling and wife, Peggy of Murfreesboro, TN; his grandchildren, Keith Swafford and wife Tonya of Harrison, Les Swafford and wife Sheila of Harrison, LaJan and Roy Nixon,Jr. of Springfield, Patty Brown and husband Jimmy of St. Joe, Justin Saling and Jason Saling both of TN.; 11 great grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison with Darvin Rainbolt and Paul Holder officiating. Burial followed in Love Cemetery. Visitation was Tuesday at Coffman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Roy Nixon, Jr., Jimmy Brown, Clayton Swafford, Keith Swafford, Les Swafford and Mike Manning.
Honorary pallbearers were Justin and Jason Saling.
